Mungaru Maleyeee Enu ninna Hani gala leeleee.....

A journey of 30 kms.....
Non Stop Heavy rains for 2 full days......
Overflowing furious streams and Rivers to cross....
Thick Evergreen forests..... isolated from the world......a feel of darkness and lost in the day.....
A journey to cherish.....a journey filled with adventure...

This is all about my latest trip to Dabbe falls and Kanoor Kote...near sagar...... Ever since i had seen the movie "mungaru male", i had a wish to venture into these deadly forests in rains...i knew the risk of venturing into these rain forests..... but it was all worth going once...

Our group had a plan quite for sometime now ....we had planned it ever since the monsoon started...but it was gilli ,loki and myself who decided to take it a go... we heard that the rains have stopped and it is safe to venture into the forests from our guide mahesh, but what was running in my mind was something different.... i wanted to venture in rains.... i wished i could see rain and yes it rained non stop for 2 full days......

Our team this time consisted of more girls and initially i was a bit worried that can they make it up? but yes they did complete with a few hiccups.... our team this time was Gilli gopal,Loki,Sriki,Kusuma,Vicky,Prathiba,Kavi,Pavi,Priya,Shilpi,Diwakar,Sneha,Achala and myself Poorna....

It started to rain immediately once we landed in sagar, we picked up mahesh and 2 of his colleagues Ravi and Madhu who would take us into the forests and also take care of our food during the 2 day journey....everyone had to take some grossory into their luggage....

We refreshed ourself in a small town called kargal and then started with the trek, amazing forests.... the monsoon had just brought a lot of greenery to this place.... we could see it green everywhere.... One thing i missed the most during this adventure is i couldn't take out my camera and use it the way i wanted....i am already down because at the end of the trip i could see some water inside my camera lens....and the photos are not up to my expectations need to take it for a service.

Our first destination was Dabbe falls, we placed our luggage at a small house near by and started walking towards dabbe falls.... it started raining a bit heavily...... and the best part was to climb down the hill with an inclination of around 85 degree...to be frank it was amazing....rains just added to the adventure making it very slippery and also the plants around because of the rains, we could see small plants all around leaving no trail of the foot mark. And the best part is you climb down for 45 min without even knowing were is the end just hearing to a roaring sound giving a feel of a waterfall near by.... adding to it was the beauty of mist which covered the entire region making visibility a bit low..... and after 45 min u end up to a place where in you get a spectacular view of the majestic Dabbe falls, which is falling with a height of around 450feet... amazing experience to have a look of this falls in its peak...i.e is in the monsoon... we can go completely till the down but that is possible only during the summers as there is lots of rocks and its very very slippery and risky to venture during the rainy season....

I plan to visit this falls again as not getting into the water is something like not making justification to the falls.... i wanna go down and play below the falls..... so plan to visit again somewhere in december.... hope the time would be just right to do that....

After enjoying the falls for some time it was time to move towards our next destination, Our next stop was a house were in we could have our lunch....but the path was filled with leeches......and achala the leech queen was the main target.... After having our lunch we decided to stop at a different location since we had decided to wrap up a 3 day trek in 2 days...so the need was to cover more distance...... This path was very beautiful with crossing small villages.... crossing small rash red watered streams by walking on the temporary man made wooden bridges.... and the beautiful paddy fields....it was green every were....

well because of the leeches everyone were running... i remembered reading somewhere like life is a trek in order to reach the destination we forget to enjoy the path....yes this is something wat happened.... i think we forgot to enjoy the path and beauty a bit probably because of the rains or probably because of the leeches.... The journey between 6.30 tp 7.30 was the worst of all as we needed to walk through a place filled with 1000s of leeches all around in the dark...and few people even slipped and twisted their ankle... probably because everyone didn't get their torches.... we reached a safe home at around 7.30pm in the dark and the rain.... to our horror i heard that the leeches had managed to reach great heights..... hahaha..we had good dinner over here and know one knew wat happed next all were dead.....i didn't get very good sleep and it was showing up the next day...

After a good breakfast i came out to check the weather and it was raining again......god dam.... was not in tat great mood to go to rains again but yes it was fun to begin the walk...... our next destination was kannoor kote....it was in the deep of the woods and it was amazing fun to walk along the forest.... with all the leeches around.... it was great to find an old fort all of a sudden....even 50mts before i couldn't see the fort such was the forest.... and it was great to see the fort...wanted to go inside and explore but teammates were very tired and so we decided to turn back hopefully next time i will go inside and have a look....

We were done with the places and now it was time to get back to our bus....quite a long journey and it was showing up on achala.... none of us knew she was tat tired and she was struggling to get some breath....i should say both the team and achala were very lucky because it was almost the end of the journey just another 5 more kms and also it was normal mud road.....

After crossing a flashy river on the hanging rope bridge... we managed to get a 2 wheeler to drop achala and sneha..... from here we just needed to cross the overflowing sharavati river through a boat to reach gerusoppa were our vehicle was waiting for us.......

End of one more meaning full journey......
Lots to learn from this trip.....enjoy the moments and not the destination....
Be part of the nature and get involved.....love the people around, mix with them and know them...
The green grass lands and the paddy fields which just refreshes ur mind and sole...
Respect nature the most....she might be very beautiful....but she is a mystery to know.....
